Jackal and The Dead Elephant

Once upon a time a jackal lived in a deep forest. While he is search of food he found a dead elephant. He was hungry but was unable to pierce the thick hide of the elephant. Suddenly a lion appeared on the scene. The jackal thought of a wonderful plan to get rid of the lion. He said, O king of jungle. I have killed this elephant for you.


You are welcome to enjoy the feast.” The lion said that lions do not eat animals killed by others and went away. Now a tiger came from somewhere. The jackal said that the elephant was killed by a lion and he was guarding the carcass till the lion returns from bath. The tiger ran for his life hearing the name of the lion. Then a leopard came.

The jackal said that leopard can enjoy some food till the lion returns. The leopard was apprehensive but jackal said that it would alert the leopard if lion comes in sight. Once the leopard pierced the elephants hide the jackal shouted that the lion was coming and leopard left the scene. With his intelligence the jackal was able to enjoy his food.

Lion and the rabbit short story

Once upon a time there lived a furious lion in a dense forest. It was a greedy lion and started killing animals in the forest. Seeing this, the animals gathered and decided to approach the lion with the offer of one animal of each day to reach to the lion. He only can eaten by the lion everyday.

So every day it was the turn of one of the animals and in the middle of a day came the rabbits’ turn. The rabbit was wise and old. It took its own time to reach the Lion. The Lion was getting angry on not seeing any animal. He decided that tomorrow I will kill all of them. 

Then at the evening the rabbit came to the lion. The Lion was angry at him and said you came very late and you are very small to be my food. I will kill you now. The rabbit told I am sorry my majesty! While I am coming on the way one more lion said to me I am king of this Jungle. I will kill you. Then I said that I am going to my King. He wants to meet you now.
The Lion was naturally very angry and asked to be taken to the place now.

The wise rabbit agreed and led the Lion towards a deep well filled with water. Then he showed the Lion his reflection in the water of the well. The Lion was furious and started growling and its image in the water, the other Lion, was also equally angry.

Then he roared to him and jumped into the water to kill him. At last he lost its life in the well. Thus the wise rabbit saved the forest and its friends from the Lion.

The jackal and the war drum

Once upon a time, there was a dense forest lived a jackal named Gomaya. One day, he was very hungry and was wandering in search of food. While searching food, he came across a battle field. There he saw a big drum lying under a tree. When the wind blew, a tender branch grown at the root of the tree struck the drum producing sound of a drum beat. He was about to run away, he had a second thought. "It is unwise to run away from something without knowing. Instead, I must be careful in finding out the source of this noise". 


The jackal examined the drum from all sides and then beat the drum with his front paws. The drum made a sound. Now the jackal thought that there might be some other small animal inside the drum and that would make a very tasty meal for him. But he found the top of the drum too tough to tear off with his paws. He tried a lot with his paws and teeth but in vain.

At that time a leopard passing by while he was searching his foods. He was attracted towards the sound of the drum, came near it. He saw the jackal and said I will kill you for my mill. The jackal said to the leopard, "Your Majesty, please leave me and I will give you a good meal instead of me. There is a goat hiding inside the drum. Since you have sharp claws and strong teeth, you can tear off the top of the drum and catch your enemies for your midday mill. I want to drink some water near to that stream. Leopard said ok you can go now. 

The leopard was himself hungry. So he hit top of the drum with his heavy paws. The drum burst with a sound, but there was no animal inside. The drum was empty. Seeing the empty drum, the leopard became very angry and said to the jackal, "You have wasted my time. There is no food inside the drum. So I will kill and eat you." He saw there was no jackal because he allows him for drinking water. He continued his search for food, and near the drum he found sufficient food and water.
